AbJo - The AbJonian Suite

The AbJonian Suite cover art

If you follow the San Diego hip-hop culture at all, then AbJo should need no introduction. You can catch the Soulection / PIMB producer at a handful of SoCal's finest hip-hop shows wielding a laptop & fondling an MPD to perfection. His style can vary from jazzy to big beat to deep & brash electronic, but the best part about it is that it all has a completely original feel, making AbJo a favorite or ours here at PWC. He's quite consistent with his drops that you can stay up to date on via his Soundcloud. For those of you who are new to the sounds of AbJo, kickback & vibe the sounds of his December 2012 release The AbJonian Suite, which he claimed to be a purging of old beats & concepts in order to start the new year fresh. Enjoy!

Danny Da Beat'O - Chula Vista Bohemian RapCity [V/A Compilation]

Today we bring you Chula Vista producer Danny Da Beat'O, a friend of ours here at PWC. For those who are unaware, Chula Vista is one of the most southern cities in the San Diego metropolitan area (being only 7 miles from the Mexican border). It is home to a vast pool of different cultures & within those cultures lies a handful of talented artists of all sorts. It is home to the practically world renowned hardcore band Take Offense, who also happen to be close friends of the Apex Realm/PWC fam (also CV natives). The Chula Vista Bohemian RapCity tape is a compilation featuring a handful of both friends & up & coming emcees from the area, rapping over the often smooth & jazzy beats of Danny Da Beat'O. The most prominent of names featured would probably be Apex Realm's ever-blossoming emcees, but track for track, it definitely does not disappoint as you dive into fresh voices, rhythms & rhyme schemes. This is Da Beat'O's first full release & we expect what's next to come to only get better. Enjoy!

Real J. Wallace & Blu - RælBlz

If you've been following us here at PWC (or the SoCal hip-hop scene in general) then you are already well aware that Real J. Wallace (1/2 of 5&A Dime's Brother Nature) is no stranger to the mic. A little bit after dropping The Laundry Room, a mixtape recorded over LA hip-hop legend Blu's beats, he was granted the opportunity to show it to him in person & create a genuine bond. 2 years later they came out with the official release of their new project RaelBlz, completely produced by Blu under the alias Godlee Barnes. Ramel has since been working on a project entitled Cali, to be produced by production duo Ill Rendition, expected to drop June 19th. Check this link for an extensive interview with Real J. via Examiner.com & check out the link below to stream the RaelBlz tape. Enjoy!

Infinity Dots [Skelly] - Fantasy Material

Our very own Skelly is back at it again, this time it's under the name Infinity Dots with an out-of-the-blue & off the wall experimental drop that we can't refute. I'm not exactly sure where to start when describing Fantasy Material. The 2-track teaser is a tad dancy, yet eerily dark, blending tastes of both classic rock & hardcore, while maintaining a deeply poetic & almost militant vibe. Although the influences clearly derive from a handful of different genres, I can't help but get a Rage Against The Machine type of feel from it. Check it out for yourselves!

Lethargik (L-TEC) - Lo-Fi Lovin' EP

PWC & Apex Realm's Lethargik the Earth Child (better known as L-TEC) was always on the lyrical side of things within his camp, but after picking up an SP-303 last summer & getting to know the mechanics behind it, he is said to have racked up an impressive amount of beats in a short amount of time. The Lo-Fi Lovin' EP is his first official beat tape & the name derives from the fact that he had no interface to get some of  his earliest work off of the 303, leading him to record the beats in a rather "lo-fi" fashion before moving on to the next. Nevertheless, the post-production work leaves the classic hip-hop vibes sounding "bump-worthy" & he still blends a handful of newer & more polished beats into the mix. Since dropping the EP, L-TEC has announced that he is producing an EP for fellow PWC camp-mate Ricky Gutz, who is featured on the last track of Lo-Fi Lovin'. Aside from that, he is also working on a full-length project entitled "One 4 All", flexing his lyrical skills with producer w!seguy behind the beats. They have since leaked the track "Loungin" from the upcoming release & plan to drop the full thing this summer. Stay tuned for what's next to come from the PWC camp & the artist informally known as Nappy DoLittle. Press play & enjoy!

Piff C. Herrera (PCH) - Tacoshophilosophy

Piff C. Herrera (aka PCH) is a personal favorite of ours here at PWC, with his labyrinth-like rhyme schemes going virtually unchallenged by most of today's emcees. The San Diego hip-hop veteran has a plethora of dope drops in his catalog, but today we're honing in on Tacoshophilosophy. The tape, produced by San Diego hip-hop veteran Mr. Brady, dropped around this time last year along with a video for the track "For The Yo's". It's truly a smooth ride through & through with Brady's classic productions being the palette for Herrera's mind to whimsically paint. Piff works with a plethora of SoCal powerhouses, ranging from his work with long-time running mate Makeshift under the crew name The Awful Great, as well as the supergroup "The Weekenders", consisting of the two of them along with 5&A Dime's Brother Nature & Sacramento's Chuuwee. PCH is most definitely a bad man & we mean that in the best way possible. Press play & enjoy!
