Ricky Gutz - In The Conundrum [Mixtape]

Around this time last year, our boy Ricky Gutz "unofficially" broke onto the scene with the drop of his first mixtape, In The Conundrum. Only rapping for a short amount of time at this point, Gutz had already shown much character & vision in his delivery & In The Conundrum was a quick & fun DIY way of sharpening his sword while portraying his sharply carefree & witty lyricism. Best put by a quote from his own page; "In The Conundrum MIXTAPE is the bastard child of the long-standing and spiteful relationship between rapper Ricky Gutz and Hip Hop." Nevertheless, we assure you that the obscurely "mixed-tape" gives you a fair share of head-nodders, while still leaving you to crave for more.. & where is "more" you may ask? Well since the project had it's fair share of contribution from Apex Realm's Skelly, with him being featured on several of the tracks as well as producing a few of them, Gutz's next step has been to put out his first solid EP to be produced entirely by Apex's Lethargik. The two have since leaked the track "Love Affair" from the EP for Valentine's Day only (how appropriate). Stay tuned for what's in store from Gutz & the rest of us here at the PWC camp. Enjoy!

Lethargik - Loungin' [leak]

PWC & Apex Realm's Lethargik (aka L-TEC) has released a leak, fittingly entitled "Loungin", after recently announcing that he has a full-length project underway to be completely produced by SoCal native w!seguy. The laid-back track also features verses from both fellow Apex member Skelly & their right hand man Ricky Gutz. L-TEC has also recently announced that he will be producing an EP for Gutz, projected to be released later this year. We advise that y'all don't sleep on the PWC camp! nor this upcoming album, set to drop this summer. Enjoy!

Skelly - Weird Existence [Remixes]

PWC & Apex Realm's own Skelly released the remixes of his Weird Existence mixtape last week, along with a fittingly abstract video for the track "White Yogis", remixed by producer Andre Elias. Check them both out & stay tuned for what else is in store! I heard through an inside source that the endlessly creative San Diego native already has another solo EP underway that is projected to be released sometime soon. Don't sleep!

Brother Nature - Fresh Squeezed Lemonade [[Throwback Thursday]]

In this edition of Throwback Thursday, we bring you Fresh Squeezed Lemonade, a mixtape put together back in 2009 by 5&A Dime's suave hip-hop duo, Brother Nature. The group consists of MCs Real J. Wallace & Bam Circa '86 who have shown their prowess in San Diego over the years both as a group & in their own respective solo efforts. This mixtape is playful, witty & just gives off that classic hip-hop vibe. Check it out & be sure to check out what these cats have been up to on a more recent note! Enjoy.

gaboYama - Select Screens

After a bit of a hiatus, we're back & next up is a dope collaborative project between So Cal producers Gabonano & Go Yama. Together they go by gaboYama & I probably wouldn't be the first to say that these two really have something going here with their first project! In Select Screens, they seamlessly fused their electronic/synthy/trip-hop styles to formulate this spacey, smooth & hard-hitting vibe, all based on Nintendo's Zelda video game. Needless to say, they came correct.. but don't take our word for it, check it out for yourselves & enjoy!

Makeshift - No Doze Vol. 1 [[Throwback Thursday]]

In this instilled installment of Throwback Thursdays, we bring you an up and coming hometown hero of sorts. Makeshift has been putting in work from his native land of San Diego for years & is not a fellow to take lightly by any means. The MC/producer has a healthy catalog of solo projects, spanning back as far as 2008, starting with his Hella Heavy EP that seems almost impossible to find now (glad to say that I still have a digital copy). Everything the man puts out is fresh & timeless, hip-hop in it's purest form if I must say. I would have loved to post the Hella Heavy EP for you all, but seeing as how I couldn't find any direct links towards it, take a slightly more recent blast from the past & check out his 2009 mixtape, No Doze Vol. 1, we guarantee you won't be disappointed.
